To overcome this behavior, you could do the following (for each of the tabs whose init you would like to delay until selected):
We're not finished, but if you test the model as is, you should see that tabbed pane init is much faster (since the tab is empty)
To finish - add an init process to the tab (outside the container) which initialized the container.
While we're on the subject of the alwaysCreate local property, and tabbed panes, note that placing the property on the tab itself, provides a means for controlling which tabs appear when the tabbed pane is created, and which will be created as a result of some process.
