If you're referring to the fact that the page design of the site is different from that of most examples, this is caused by the fact that most (older) examples are based on the Legacy Navigation application template, whereas the site application is based on the Authorization application template. Both templates (and others) are are options provided in the New Tersus Project wizard (File -> New -> Tersus Project ...).Note that the essential difference between the Legacy template and all other templates is the setting of html.customNavigation property on the root system. Setting it to false invokes the perspectives/views (legacy) design, whereas true invokes a blank design (as in the Blank View template). You can find additional info on this here.
