Hi Luis,
For a customer for which I build a "housestylemanager" in Tersus, I decided not to use OpenOffice because we had several serious problems:
1) It's relative slow, a document with lot of pages has a response time of several seconds2) Conversion to .doc files gives many problems, especially if some parts must be read-only
However, the customer is now using Aspose (commercial application, based on MSoffice), which is fast and has almost no problems with conversion to .pdf/.rtf/.txt/.html
In Tersus I create a XML-file with the data and send it via a "HTTP Post" to the Aspose instance. In some tests we were able to generate several hundreds of documents per minute (with OO only 25-30)
For some more information, send me an email.
