There's no specific doc covering user defined events.
Since we're on this subject, it's important to note that any process element whose name is in the format <On ...>, is assumed to be an event handler (either platform-defined or user-defined) which means it will only execute as a result of the event being fired by the platform or an application process.
So <On Contact Us> executes as a result of the event being fired, while <Contact Us> executes immediately (as a result of it's parent being executed/displayed).
