Your excitement with Tersus is certainly noticeable, and very welcome.
I would suggest that the important part of GETTING IT, is the modelling part, which you should first get comfortable with, as that is the creative and productive part of Tersus. I think you should not put too big an emphasis on getting deployment right at present, as ultimately this is a technical matter.
Having said that I'll be glad to help you figure out deployment. Unfortunately you did not supply the needed information regarding the database, whose install location is irrelevant.
What's needed are details from its configuration. Specifically: Username, Password, Hostname (which I'm guessing from your description is localhost/127.0.0.1), and Name.
If you're not comfortable with MySQL (or databases in general), perhaps you should consider deploying first with the Default (HSQLDB) database, which will also allow you to access the test data entered while modelling.
