It will not be practical to disable the embedded jQuery - Tersus dependence on jQuery will only grow over time.
I guess it will be more practical for you to make your scripts run with the more recent version.
Alternatively, you may be able to run the older jQuery version in a dedicated namespace - possibly something like the code below. The cost is that 2 copies of jQuery will be downloaded and parsed.
