When using a Display/File Input Field, there's only one thing your are allowed to do with its <Value> element (of type File), and that is to pass it directly to a server side process (Basic/Service).
I'm guessing that in your model the File structure is not passed directly to a service (if at all). See the thread @ http://www.tersus.com/#Id=761 for details and examples.
