Thanks for the revert of two possible approaches on the math applied to MySQL database data.
I did try to copy the Requsition Management calculation example (and can quite successfully generate both total and average column results IN THE ROW being worked upon but was not able to figure how to do same for column totals at end of table (non repetitive grand total per table column calc),
Also, what seemed to be easily done in the tutorial to recommit calculated values back into the MySql database table for db Insert/Update proved to be more difficult than I could get right (real newbie here who has been bitten by the excitement of seeing what can be done in the excellent tutorials but still groping to become proficient with the software).
On your advice I will change tactic and try and search the web for what's entailed in getting pre-calculated views stored within MySQL for reference as straight table imports; hopefully this is something that phpmyadmin or some other db utility can help me handle; i'll investigate.
