Here's a generalized model:
The modelling in Convert Error Structure to Record analyses the content of the Error structure (the 2 strings, Message and Cause) using the various plugins in the Text category (and other categories as applicable), and creates an Error Record based on the results of this analysis. The actual analysis depends on the source of the error. You'll need to check what the postgres db and jdbc driver return as errors and adjust your model accordingly.
Nothing here is specific to postgres access, the Database Query plugin, or in fact to database access in general - the red Error exit may be placed on any model, and catches any error occurring in it or it's children, so changing the model as follows, should handle the same exceptions as the previous demo (i.e. those related to Database Query), as well as exceptions caused in Prepare SQL Statement (if any):
Practically anything in the model can be changed to suit your specific environment and requirements.

David
