Several non-tersus specific solution i would try:
I would create a view/temporary table in the mysql database, that changes these values into null
you can also MERGE two sql queries:
one for the non-broken values, and the other where the broken values are ignored and NULL is put into the column instead.
you can also get the values as string and then re-parse them inside tersus.
