One of the major projects we're working on right now is MySQL-based.
We're using MySQL 5.5/5.6 and the latest connector/J and have encountered no issues related specifically to Tersus.
The only major problem we've encountered thus-far has to do with the default server character set, which might in certain platforms/configurations, be set to latin1 (or something other than utf8), preventing usage of UTF-8 character encoding (required for Chinese, Hebrew, Arabic, etc.). So, after installing the latest server version, verify that your server's 'character_set_server' configuration variable is set to 'utf8'.
