I apologise for the late response, and I guess you may have already figured it out, that you should use a parent/ancestor reference to retrieve the Simple Table/Selected element, which should contain the Data element representing the selected row.
Note that since all functionality in the new mobile app template is fully modeled, you should be able to figure out undocumented functionality in the model itself - in this case, since the table rows are implemented in the Body/TR model, having a look at the <On Click> event there, should help you figure this out.
